Have you ever put a tarot deck back down because the pictures unsettled you?
Dreaming Cat Tarot keeps every traditional meaning of the Rider-Waite system and redraws it with cats. Death, the Tower, the Devil — all present, all painted in soft pastel. Nothing is watered down. It is simply a deck you can leave out on the table.
Three reasons readers choose this deck
A cat in all 78 cards
This is not a standard deck with a cute box. Every Major and Minor Arcana card is redrawn, so the world stays consistent from The Fool through to the King of Pentacles.
Faithful to Rider-Waite, so every guide still works
The symbolism follows the traditional deck. Any tarot book, course or website you already use applies to this deck directly — nothing to translate or adjust.
Guidebook in English and Japanese
Both languages are in the box. You can read your first spread the day the deck arrives, without searching for meanings online.

Five reasons "tarot looks difficult" does not apply hereRead more
- Any beginner's book worksThe deck follows the Rider-Waite structure, so the guides in your local bookshop apply as they are.
- Meanings come in the boxThe English guidebook explains every card, so nothing has to be memorised first.
- The artwork is easy to live withEven the traditionally unsettling cards are painted gently, which makes the deck easy to pick up daily.
- Start with a one-card drawNo spread to learn. One card answers the question in front of you.
- It grows with youBecause the structure is traditional, the deck still works once your reading gets more advanced.
The artwork
Seventy-eight cats, each holding one piece of the story.
Every card was drawn for this deck by a Japanese illustrator, in a pastel palette that stays soft without losing the symbols a reading depends on. Laid out together, the Major Arcana reads as one continuous world rather than 22 separate pictures.
— The day this deck was made —
It began with a question a customer asked us.
"Is there a tarot deck I would not want to hide?"
Traditional decks are built to be read, not to be looked at. Their images carry centuries of meaning, and some of them are frightening on purpose. But a deck that lives in a drawer is a deck that never gets used. We started drawing cats — first as a joke, then seriously — and found that the symbols survived the translation intact. A cat can hold a sword. A cat can fall from a tower. The meaning stays; only the fear leaves.
From the makers
Dreaming Cat Tarot is a Luna Factory original. We kept the Rider-Waite structure and its symbolism and redrew all 78 cards, so it can be used as a first deck and kept as a long-term one.
