Luna's Bear Tarot — 78-Card Beginner Deck
Seventy-eight cards, and a teddy bear in every one.
A first tarot deck that is not trying to unsettle you.
- Beginner-friendly
- Rider-Waite based
- Matte, easy to shuffle
- Guidebook included
Is the deck you own one you have to brace yourself to open?
Luna's Bear Tarot follows the complete Rider Edition and casts every card with teddy bears. The Tower still falls and Death still arrives; they simply do not frighten you out of the room. The card stock is matte and scratch-resistant, so a deck you handle daily still looks new a year in.
Three reasons readers choose this deck
Compliant with the complete Rider Edition
Every card corresponds to the traditional deck, so beginners can follow any standard guide and experienced readers lose nothing by switching.
Card stock that outlasts the original
Matte, easy to shuffle and more scratch-resistant than the original Rider Edition stock — made for a deck that gets used, not shelved.
Drawn bear by bear
The shape of each teddy was worked on individually to keep the whole deck warm, rather than pasting one mascot across 78 cards.

If you are starting from zero
Five reasons "tarot looks difficult" does not apply hereRead more
- Any beginner's book worksThe deck complies with the Rider Edition, so the guides in your local bookshop apply as they are.
- The frightening cards are not frighteningThe traditionally alarming images are drawn warmly, which is what makes a daily habit possible.
- Built to be handledMatte, scratch-resistant stock means practising every day does not visibly wear the deck.
- Start with a one-card drawNo spread to learn. One card answers the question in front of you.
- It grows with youBecause the structure is traditional, the deck still works once your reading gets more advanced.
The artwork

A bear you would want to pick up, holding a sword.
The illustrations were built around a single physical idea: a mellow, huggable shape. That constraint runs through all 78 cards, so Strength, the Knights and the Cups all belong to the same world. The symbols the Rider Edition depends on are kept intact underneath the softness.
— The day this deck was made —
We kept hearing the same reason people had stopped reading.
"I did not want those pictures in my house."
Tarot's images were designed centuries ago to be read, and some of them were designed to alarm. That is fair enough on the page, and much less fair on a bedside table. Teddy bears turned out to solve it without costing anything: a bear can carry a sword, fall from a tower, or stand for Death, and the meaning survives the translation intact. What leaves is only the dread.
From the makers
Luna's Bear Tarot is a Luna Factory original. We kept the complete Rider Edition structure and drew all 78 cards on matte, scratch-resistant stock, so it works as a first deck and survives being a daily one.
